The MRS Barracuda R2<\/strong> is the best choice for a duo seeking steady and fast movement. Measuring approximately 3.6 meters, the Barracuda R2 is the largest and by far the fastest packraft in MRS’s fleet. Both the Norwegian and Finnish packraft race victories have been achieved with this model. Its bow and stern design make it extremely streamlined, and the attachable fin adds even more directional stability. It also excels in large waves and demanding rapids (note: remove the fin before rapids).<\/p>\n

This model weighs 5,1 kg but has a load capacity of up to 330 kg. Compared to the Adventure X2, the Barracuda R2 clearly offers more legroom for both the front and rear paddler. Space-wise, it’s perfect for two adult-sized paddlers, but it can also be paddled solo if needed (e.g., hunting with a dog).<\/p>\n

Also available with the handy ISS system<\/a>, which lets you store items such as tents, sleeping bags, and food inside the pontoons, lowering the center of gravity in the process.<\/p>\n

Inflating:<\/strong> A very convenient accessory for every packraft owner is the Flextailgear Max Pump<\/a>. Whether you inflate your packraft with this pump or a fill bag, the final touches should be done with strong breaths (through the one-way valve on top). To ensure the best user experience, the Barracuda R2 should be inflated thoroughly to prevent folding in the middle. Instead of blowing, the finishing touches can also be easily done using the MRS foot pump.<\/a><\/p>\n

Paddle recommendation:<\/strong> The MRS Barracuda R2 has enough length for both paddlers to comfortably use kayak paddles, ensuring maximum speed and efficiency. A 220 cm long Melomo paddle<\/a> is ideally suited for versatile touring use. If you prefer a more relaxed paddling pace, you can use the Melomo Hybrid<\/a> to create canoe paddles to avoid water splashes.
